Fabulous product

If you’ve been frustrated by the disappointingly low quality of your authenti Mont Blanc ballpoint refills, this is the product for you: much darker, richer ink that flows more smoothly. Feels like a real upgrade, and at last the pen writes as well as it looks.

Have only had the refills two days, so can’t speak to longevity, but initial quality is very noticeably better

Good Color But Not Quite to Montblanc Spec’s

The ink for this refill has nice color and the refill is not scratchy (like the Monteverde gel refill for Waterman pens or the Monteverde Soft Roll refill for Cross pens). However, this refill does have a design flaw (as does the Monteverde gel ink refill for Waterman pens): it is end ridge is not the same size as that of the authentic Montblanc ballpoint refill. You may not see this as a problem but it is this end ridge that keeps the refill in the pen and this is a problem if you use a Montblanc refill with the snap-in end extension in a rollerball pen. I had an exceedingly hard time getting the snap-in end extension into the end of the refill AND I had to invent an end ridge using Scotch tape so that the refill would not slip through the end section of the pen: I have NEVER had to do this with an authentic Montblanc refill.

So, IF you are originative and make your own end-ridge so that the refill fits your pen and if you push VERY HARD so that your Montblanc snap-in end section extender snaps into the end of the refill (if you are using this refill in a rollerball pen) THEN the refill is fine but otherwise, beware!

As with all alternate refills, I suggest that you buy ONE initial to try it in your pen (for fit and writing-feel) so that you will not be disappointed.

Stay With Montblanc

I purchased these because I hated paying so much for refills for my 2 Montblanc pens. The black refill quit working almost without delay and the blue only lasted a very short time. This is the last time I will buy Monteverde refills.
