One word class knife

I have owned this knife for ever. It holds a good edge , not sure what the blade material is – i have read it is 440 SS , not one thing more specific than that. The blade is thick for prying. I would never use it for that but it is thick sufficient to out pry most combat tactical knives even altho it is technically a dive knife. The saw on top is ok, it has a saw edge on the very top and then at a slight angle and wider going down the side. May be good for beneath water rope ??? The flat blunt butt of the knife provides a solid smack to whatsoever your applying it to. The handle is good, fatter in the middle and may be held with resolute determination with strength but i think it is not as good as more modern stuff in term of sentiment “grippy” when moist. it is nevertheless one of the toughest handles i have seen. The sheath is good but very thick at least an inch and it has metal that hold the knife in place – it is a piece of springy metal pushing versus the blade. it is not the best choice because it rubs versus the blade and makes noise when drawing it but it is secure. you would have to flick it regarding full speed to eject the knife from the sheath. The best percentage !! the point, a bit too pointy for numerous persons (gets gorgeous thin)it will puncture with ease thick leather or canvas. Over all this is the best quality knife i have in term of durability and toughness.

A Very Good General Purpose Field Knife

I got a Mark 3 regarding a month ago. It is not a sexy, special forces type knife. But it takes an edge well, and is strong and durable. Also, being made of stainless steel and plastic, it is impervious to sea water. If I had to pick 2 bones with this knife, I would replace the sawtooth top edge with a serrated edge. This would be better for cutting rope, etc. And the knife came coated in cosmoline, which I feel is unnecessary, messy, and stinky.
